Bang Bang
I've learned a new expression. Analysis Paralysis - a feeling of being unable to make a decision due to overthinking the problem and considering too many options. It's characterized by excessive analysis, contemplation, and a fear of making a mistake, leading to a delay in making a decision or even a complete inability to move forward.
Actually I know this concept too well. My pile of unfinished WIPs is constantly growing, so is the pile of project cars in my boxes.
Having so many options to spend my spare time on, having so many interetsts and hobbies doesn't help. Then, if I happen to decide working on my hobby, again there are so many options.
And since I upgraded my game, using more expensive materials, the fear of ruining something has grown. I hate to waste time. The prospect of also wasting money is not helping.
Another problem is the opposite of Dunning-Kruger-Effect. The better I get, the more techniques I learn, the higher my own expectations. It's become hard to meet these. Also spending significant time on watching other people's work and reading legimite critiques made me a lot more critical myself. There are now so many things to consider.
So, to stop piling up WIPs and then stopping to work on them because of too many options and to high expectations I decided to do a few quick and dirty projects. Limiting the available options, and setting a deadline. My beloved partner had been on a two week vacation alone, since I didn't have enough days off from work left to join her.
So I moved a few cars, some tools, and a limited selection of bits to the living room table, and started working on them.
One outcome was this batch of cars.
I recently rediscovered the game Wreckfest in my Steam library. And I was quite inspired by the aesthetic style.
Since I started those near the end of my alone-time, I decided on making them extra quick. So I gave myself another limitation: No after market parts. No Implements of Carnage, no custom wheels. Just o.g. Hot Wheels and Matchbox parts and what I could kitbash or scratchbuild from plastic parts or card I had lying around.
Also adding guns and stuff would actually have spoiled the aesthetic I was going for.

I couldn't glue on the base smoothly because the mesh and Rollcage got in the way. Decided I didn't car. Looks super banger this way. |

Buick Regal GNX. It had a removable hood. I glued it on in a misfitting angle to make the car more battered looking. |

The chassis and engine are taken from a Cruise Bruiser. Had to enlarge the wheel base a bit to make it fit. |

Made heavy use of Posca markers. The graffiti and markings on the cars are all done that way. |
